Revenge of the Sith
Finally watched Revenge of the Sith yesterday at Shangrila Premiere Cinema. Before I talk of my thoughts about the final installment to the prequel trilogy, let me say something about the Cinema first. Ticket price is at P295 pesos…whoa! pretty stiff compared to other cinema’s right? So what’s the difference. Well, aside from the reclining seats the package price includes an eat-till-you-vomit popcorn of any flavor of your choice and sodas as well. A real treat for couch potatoes who likes watching movies while muching their favorite popcorn. In terms of sound technology and screen quality…Greenbelt 3 still is the best for me.
Anyways, on with the movie. Revenge of the Sith as you all know is the final installment of the prequel trilogy. Its the ultimate episodes of the 5 as they say. It being the episode that is suppose to complete the circle. And what a way to complete the whole saga indeed. All the elements of the five movies were put together to come up with a gigantic episode. In terms of special effects…indeed it was a real treat!…Technology has really made wonders to the space battle scenes….the war scene…the saber duel sequences….But if you are like me who is alreade denuded with the use of CGI and other computer wizadry in putting a make belief cinematography…well, Revenge of the Sith would not make you awe anymore. In fact, after watching the old trilogy, i still prefer the battle ship scenes there. I love the classic appeal of the scene where anakin attacks the protector shield of the death star…simple classic!…
Story wise…well, its an action movie…so don’t expect too much.
After all has been said about this movie…if you are a real movie critic, you’d simply say this sucks…nothing new anymore…
But if you are a star wars fanatic who have followed this saga for almost 30 years…you’d love this last episode….after the movie…you’d just say…ah finally…the circle is complete!
