October 31, 2005

As early as last week, various cinemas in Metro Manila have started selling advance tickets for the first day showing of Harry Potter : the Goblet of Fire movie, on November 16 (Phillipine showing). Expect other promotional blitz next week, as more and more companies are sure to join in the HP4 frenzy. Incidentally, if you are a fan of K-Zone magazine published by Summit Media, its November issue contains a HP4 poster similar to this.

Blogging from the City of Pines

October 28, 2005

I am currently taking a break from a two day benchmarking activity for our company’s ISO project here at the City of Pines. We’ve visited Texas Instruments, Sanyo Corporation and TIPCO Paper Corporation. While everybody in our group is at the hotel resting, I’m currently logged on in Netopia at Session Road. Their per hour rate is cheaper than in Manila by the way. (P25). (more…)

The implementation of the Organized Bus Route, a new bus dispatch system of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is on its second day today. A Song for Librarian

And here’s a the chorus of the song:

I’m a librarian, I’m a librarian
and I like it quiet so the pages can be heard
I’m a librarian, I’m a librarian
and I do it for the love of the word

Consal 13 Blog

Wouldn’t it be neat to have a CONSAL 13 Blog? I wonder why this didn’t come out during the preliminary planning stage of the Consal 13 Secretariat. In this day and age, weblogs have been a powerful medium of expressing one’s thoughts and ideas, of reaching out to global audience and of bridging the demographic gap among Filipino librarians. I believe some of our competent blograrians would be more than willing to participate in this kind of endeavour. They could even tap the writing ingenuity of other librarians who are CONSAL bound next year. The SLA 2005 Blog and the Public Library Association’s blog are two examples of events that utilized weblogs in their respective sponsored conferences.

Pinoy Ako : A Hodge Podge of New and Old OPM songs

October 10, 2005

Though it was billed as Pinoy Big Brother’s official soundtrack, it was not the reason why I bought this CD compilation. Oh well, the popularity of Orange and Lemon’s “Pinoy Ako” was partly the reason. But aside from that, the Orangie color of the CD inlet, with a picture of salakot made me buy the CD. (more…)
