A Song for Librarian

This is just to cool. After accidentally finding out about The Librarian: Quest for the Spear, I just stumbled upon a song for librarians. The song is one of the tracks of an aptly titled album Public Library by Minneapolis songwriter/singer Jonathan Rundman. Check out his site for more infos and details about the album. And here’s a the chorus of the song:

I’m a librarian, I’m a librarian

Consal 13 Blog

Wouldn’t it be neat to have a CONSAL 13 Blog? I wonder why this didn’t come out during the preliminary planning stage of the Consal 13 Secretariat. In this day and age, weblogs have been a powerful medium of expressing one’s thoughts and ideas, of reaching out to global audience and of bridging the demographic gap among Filipino librarians. I believe some of our competent blograrians would be more than willing to participate in this kind of endeavour. They could even tap the writing ingenuity of other librarians who are CONSAL bound next year. The SLA 2005 Blog and the Public Library Association’s blog are two examples of events that utilized weblogs in their respective sponsored conferences.
