Pinoy Big Brother Big Winner
And so the first Pinoy Big Brother season has ended. The big winner was chosen by none other than the PBB viewing fans via SMS voting. Almost a million sms votes were received ABS-CBN, more than half of these votes were for Nene, an ex-military cadet (or officer). And so she gets to bring home almost 6 million worth of prizes. ABS-CBN made sure that the event would be big event, that it has to be done in the Clark Expo Zone. Prankly I don’t see the reason why the four remaining housemates had to be brought to Clark Expo from the ABS-CBN loop, only to be brought back to ABS-CBN the following day? But then, judging from the number of people who trooped to the Clark Expo Zone (most of them came all the way from Q.C. via a free charter bus provided by ABS-CBN), and the number of commercials that were shown during breaks, I could very well say that indeed, the final show was indeed a success. The Endemol (Pinoy Big Brother franchiser) people must be amazed by the popularity of Pinoy Big Brother. And the Big Winner Nene? Well, personally I have nothing against her winning the contest, but I would have been happier if her closest rival Jayson (a former Overseas Contract Worker, a family man) won. Because if I were to choose based on the housemates’ trait , Jayson epitomizes the true characteristics of your ordinary Pinoy, “magaling makisama, masayahin, palabiro at walang masamang tinapay.” Whereas, the big winner Nene, was there for 101 days to compete and beat all the other housemates no matter what the cause are. She never gained true friendship and never allied with any other housemates. But then she got the prize.
